The RES-Q+ project was featured at the ELASF (European Life Science and Applications Forum) conference on March 10-11, 2025, in Prague. The event was organized by the STROKE Alliance for EUROPE (SAFE) and coincided with Brain Awareness Week. Veronika NÄ›mcová presented the project’s innovative virtual assistant, designed to support survivors in their life after stroke.

The presentation focused on the motivation behind why we are creating a patient virtual assistant, specifically  how it can improve the quality of care and treatment of stroke patients, which is central to the mission of RES-Q+. The virtual assistant is part of a broader effort to enhance post-stroke recovery by monitoring survivors’ health at home, which will save resources and improve follow-up in post-stroke care. This tool functions as a credible tool for stroke survivors to monitor their condition and provides reliable stroke information and encouraging them to engage in their own health management and fostering the connection with their healthcare providers

"I think the presentation was very impactful because there were a lot of questions during the conference about the next steps and what is currently being done to improve post-stroke care. The work I presented helped answer these questions, and I believe that’s why it excited so many participants. Many showed interest in the project itself and even suggested potential collaborations. I’m super happy with this outcome!" said Veronika.

RES-Q+ is a European project utilising technology and AI tools to improve stroke care quality. It aims to enhance hospital care through virtual assistants (VAs), which support both patients and doctors. VAs support clinicians in analysing care quality data and predicting patient outcomes to better personalise treatment, while patients can utilise VAs to receive verified stroke information and to monitor their health data at home.

ELASF aims to bring together research, industry, and those with lived experience to encourage more research and collaboration in stroke care across Europe.
